NASA Accused of 'Climategate' Stalling

nasa_logo1FOIA Response Long Overdue

By Stephan Dinan

The man battling NASA for access to potential “Climategate” e-mails says the agency is still withholding documents and that NASA may be trying to stall long enough to avoid hurting an upcoming Senate debate on global warming.

Nearly three years after his first Freedom of Information Act request, Christopher C. Horner, senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said he will file a lawsuit Thursday to force NASA to turn over documents the agency has promised but has never delivered.

Mr. Horner said he expects the documents, primarily e-mails from scientists involved with NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), will be yet another blow to the science behind global warming, which has come under fire in recent months after e-mails from a leading British research unit indicated scientists had manipulated some data.

“What we’ve got is the third leg of the stool here, which is the U.S.-led, NASA-run effort to defend what proved to be indefensible, and that was a manufactured record of aberrant warming,” Mr. Horner said. “We assume that we will also see through these e-mails, as we’ve seen through others, organized efforts to subvert transparency laws like FOIA.”

The idea that “green energy” will create jobs is akin to putting shrimp fisherman to work cleaning up an oil slick. Devastating a perfectly good profession and turning them into bird cleaners. Is this part of Barry’s jobs plan?

Spain’s much “envied” green jobs economy has killed 2 traditional jobs for every “green” job it’s created and unemployment is now in the 20% range there. The green jobs also tend to be temporary and cost an average of $800,000 tax dollars to create. I hope that’s not the road we’re heading down (but it looks like it).

    Dan, I fully agree.

  4. Rob N. Hood June 10, 2010 at 10:25 am #

Would those jobs have disappeared anyway? The “research” for such things can be easily skewed or be outright fraudulant. You people question all sorts of “research” data, but not the ones you are pre-disposed to agree with.

It is easily apparent that instead of “Communism” being the big boogeyman, IT is now “Socialism” AND anything “Green.” A very convenient way to keep the commoners scared and pliable. Of course there will always be “terrorism” too. A trifeca of fear. A very old but very effective way to control and oppress.

The only thing I ever feared out of all of the above was you guys. And I still do. Then there’s the loathing too of course.

You have a “Great dislike” for the truth do ya? So be it.

  6. Rob N. Hood June 12, 2010 at 10:01 am #

I can handle the truth. And I usually know it when I see it. To do this I use rational thinking, logic, and intelligence. I don’t just swallow any old propaganda that comes down the pike, even if it suits my mentality.

Your truth is that you swallow any “reasearch” that fits your pre-determined viewpoint and dismiss that which doens’t. I simply pointed that truth out. You don’t seem to like that truth much.

  7. paul wenum June 12, 2010 at 8:21 pm #

You follow “Truth” as you determine to be the truth that fits your agenda. Look at statements by the UN. All of us do, so what’s new? Scientific, peer reviewed items I believe in, not a panel that uses “Computer models” that have been proven incorrect. Why is Al Gore so silent?

  8. Rob N. Hood June 13, 2010 at 7:11 am #

So you “determine the truth to be the truth that fits your agenda”? Thanks for clearing that up.

  9. paul wenum June 13, 2010 at 10:31 pm #

You will know it when you see and experience it. You have never been there my friend. Eventually you will. Seeing the truth takes time. Wikipidea doesn’t carry what I just said nor will you. It will come to you someday.

Gee, that’s not condescending at all. And here I thought all extremist Rightys were arrogant.

  11. paul wenum June 15, 2010 at 9:12 pm #

Nobody is extremist. That’s what Saul taught you. When you lose an argument extremist liberals such as you seem to always change the subject, scream and get belligerent.. Why is that? Is it genetic or is that Saul speaking? I believe I know the answer.

  12. Rob N. Hood June 16, 2010 at 7:41 am #

uhh, didn’t you just say nobody is extremist AND then say that I am an extremist?? WTF?

Read some books about the brain. You just might learn something.

Only answer a direct factual question. Not dribble/blathering from an Alinsky clone.

You never answered my direct question, above. What are you a hypocrite or something?
