Global Warming: If we’re serious about restoring science to its rightful place, the head of the U.N.’s panel on climate change should step down. Evidence shows he quarterbacked a deliberate and premeditated fraud. The U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has been forced to back off its now-discredited claim that the Himalayan glaciers would soon disappear. But it’s not true, the panel’s vice chairman, Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, told the BBC, that it was simply a “human mistake.”
The panel’s chairman, Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, who was forced to admit the claim had no basis in observable scientific fact, said its inclusion was merely a “poor application” of IPCC procedures, acting as if the original source of the claim, Indian scientist Dr. Syed Hasnain, was a total stranger.
In fact, as Christopher Booker of the London Telegraph points out, Dr. Hasnain “has for the past two years been working as a senior employee of the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the Delhi-based company of which Dr. Pachauri was director-general.”
So after the 2007 assessment that included Hasnain’s claim, Pachauri was impressed enough to hire him as an employee. Pachauri should have been familiar with both his work and the fact the claim had not been peer-reviewed, and aware that it had been challenged by reputable geologists.
The climate-change climate has changed
“Our favorite moment in the State of the Union was when Obama said this: “I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change.”
To be sure, this was a “to be sure” sentence: The president went on to say global warming is worth fighting even if imaginary. But we liked this moment for two reasons: First, because the president felt obliged to acknowledge disagreement. Second, because his laughable assertion about “the overwhelming scientific evidence” was greeted with laughter. The climate-change climate has changed.”
Lone wolf, I love you man, but you just did something that I jump all over Rob N’ Hood for doing. You just copied and pasted something I saw somewhere else. In other words you just plagerised someone elses work. I do it all the time but I will also post the source. So please post your sources. It’s a pet peeve of mine.
Is this President actually “real” or have I been dreaming for over a year? Does he have advisers? Oh that’s right, Hanson and Chu? Forgot about that. Paint our roof white and pray that the ocean doesn’t take down Minneapolis. What the heck did you people elect?? Don’t look at me.
The entire IPCC panel must go, plus the 90% of the press around the world.
I thought I was safe in Minneapolis. Thats it honey, we’re moving to Brainerd. I can’t even describe how embarrassed the people who voted this BOZO into office should be. I think they should revoke the voter registrations of the idiots who voted for him.
Hal, being from St. Paul, I have to say that you should leave Minneapolis ASAP anyway. Of course I only say that because I live in St. Paul.
I still cannot believe what I heard the other night. Utter nonsense, and I’m being nice. It was surreal to say the least.
You guys are so bizzare. You live in your own bizzaro world. Up is down, down is up. I am currently NOT a big Obama fan, but his speech was good. Now if only he’d grow some and back it up and make some good things happen. Bush did whatever the hell he wanted for 8 LONG YEARS- with no majority!! THAT’s how weak the Dems are, then and now. But for some really odd reason you guys can’t see that. You’se side won a long time ago, you should not be so worried and paranoid. This is a Right-wing country in a more or less right-wing corporate based world. This is it, you should enjoy it while it lasts. Nothing lasts forever as they say.
If it’s so bizzare why are you here?
I explained that above in so many words. But I know you like/need things to be very black and white, so here it goes: I’m here to remind you there’s another reality out there, that is more rational and logical than the one you live in. I’m not talking about the climate change issue now, or hardly ever. Why? Because it is boring and the truth, such as it is (always somewhat subject to doubt) will reveal itself eventually. Mother nature will do that for us.
And I am here to try and explain to you that your heroes and politicians are no better, and maybe even worse, for your causes than the “Liberals.” Unless, of course, your cause is fascism, then you are basically right on target. You call it communism and/or socialism but what is really happening to the USA and around the world at this time is fascism. Once this has run its course it could turn into something else… global totalitarianism, or even some kind of “communism.” It doesn’t really matter what we peons want to call it- we should fight it together. They are counting on splitting us, as is very easy to get people to do. Your hard-core attitudes are just what they want and need to enslave you.
Neil, I agree. Discourse with Rob is like peeing into the wind. I can hardly wait for November. That said, those elected have to deliver whatever party wins. Not the left wing policies offered over the last year. I don’t want Hugo in the White House for more than one term. Old Harry will be gone as well as others. No wonder they are retiring. Again, whoever replaces these people better represent the people. Enough said.
Rob most go!!! đ It is a joke, at the very end I enjoy his empty prose!
Ahhh, gee thanks so much. If you think it’s empty maybe it is only your head that is.
I enjoy Rob. Probably a nice gentlemen in person. Just has his prioities wrong. Most people do.
I am sure, and I agree: Rob most stay!!!!
Well, ok, if you insist… I must say I am a little surprised by this show of tolerance. Maybe things aren’t as hopeless as I think they are.
Rob, It’s called the First amendment.
You even have to argue against a compliment? And in your usual non-sensical manner. Oh well, it was heart-warming for a few moments anyway. Carry on you neo-fascists you.
Thanks for the compliment. Start thinking before reacting. I must say, I should do same?
