What I found interesting, but not suprising, was that if you go to the app store and read the reviews of this app, they have one positive comment with 5 stars, and two negative comments both with 1 star each.

It’s about time we have the ability to lookup info on an iPhone app about the science of climate that is not doctored to fit an agenda of the greens. WUWT has been a consistent source of info on the truth about climate change. It will be much easer to find the appropriate reply to opposition untruths. THANKS

Not really a scientific or objective information source. (1 star)

It is strictly a propaganda app from a source that denies any human influence on global warming. One silly statement is that co2 is plant food and not a pollutant. Sure, but in excess is a pollutant if it’s acidifying our oceans and causing increased global temperatures. In the very near future all the denial in the world won’t obscure what will be readily apparent. It doesn’t matter anyway because we are already too late. I’m not even upset about the 99 cents I lost. What will that be worth in ten years?

Simple minded people will make this app into a political issue just because they want to “prove” their opposition wrong. This isn’t a political issue. It’s a scientific issue. People who are not educated on the planet and climate will be easily taken in by this app. The fact is there is no real scientific merit in this app. It’s better to gain knowledge from academics rather than from what a political pundit tells you to believe. Once you have true understanding of how our planet works, you will see through the complete bunk that thus app embodies. This app is propaganda pushing an agenda. Nothing more.”

My opinion is that no matter what the evidence, or facts say, the die hard AGW advocates will never stop believing that we are causing global warming. We could have another little ice age, and they would still think it was caused by AGW!

    Never changes does it?

  3. Rob N. Hood August 25, 2010 at 3:10 pm #

Nope, it sure doesn’t. What ever you do don’t look at that man behind the curtain…

The University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute named Koch Industries one of the top ten air polluters in the United States. And Greenpeace issued a report identifying the company as a “kingpin of climate science denial.” The report showed that, from 2005 to 2008, the Kochs vastly outdid ExxonMobil in giving money to organizations fighting legislation related to climate change, underwriting a huge network of foundations, think tanks, and political front groups. Indeed, the brothers have funded opposition campaigns against so many Obama Administration policies—from health-care reform to the economic-stimulus program—that, in political circles, their ideological network is known as the Kochtopus.

    Et tu globalclimatescam?

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD August 27, 2010 at 6:00 am #

So it’s ok for people to put money into backing your point of view, but not to fund an opposing view to yours?

      • Rob N. Hood August 27, 2010 at 6:50 am #

Money rules the world, and the Koch brothers are one of the biggest puppet-masters of today. They have each of you on a string and help fund sites like these, but as covertly as possible. They don’t care one whit about you, your family, or the environment you live in. The only thing they care about is their greasy bottom line. THAT is what the word evil was invented for.

        • Dan August 27, 2010 at 9:18 am #

A silly assumption. GCS is funded by Minnesota Majority, who are funded from donations from our members – concerned Minnesota citizens. It is a populist movement that’s behind Minnesota Majority and GlobalClimateScam.com. If they want to send some cash, though, we can find uses for the money!

I am a little leery about anything Apple related, or designed with Apple in mind. Not a place I go for information. I am surprised Apple let them get away with it. Although, those reviews are definitely a selling point to my demographic. But I am not interested.

Rob, I like Koch Industries! Hey they landed in the top ten! Good for them! They see the damage Barry is doing to this country and are putting their money where their mouth is. I will look into picking up some Koch shares.

  5. paul wenum August 25, 2010 at 10:20 pm #

Gentlemen, the way it is going with this administration and the EPA we all would be put away for “cutting wind.” Let’s get back to reality. Koch is a vital asset to our community. Is there some “pollution?, Yes. Is it life threatening? No. Will we die? (Well we all do someday no matter what we ingest/breath) I’m a realist and deal in reality not “Avatar” thinking. So they donate. So does George Soros as well as others that have a personal/financial interest. Funny Robbie Boy never ever points this out. Left leaning Liberals never change and that’s why the polls state same. Can hardly wait for November, 2010.

  6. Rob N. Hood August 27, 2010 at 6:53 am #

Hilter sucked up to the industrialists too. There’s a word for that too. It’s fascism.

  7. paul wenum August 27, 2010 at 9:29 pm #

88% of the networks donated to Obama in 2008? What about Moveon.org, George Soros and his ilk? Oh that’s right, that’s OK! Get real.

  8. Rob N. Hood August 28, 2010 at 4:07 pm #

As I’ve said countless times before I believe Obama to be nothing more than a different face on the same agenda. And it’s rightwing, not leftwing. Obama’s in the pocket of the rich elite just like W before him ad infinitim. Sure some wealthy liberals give money, but that doesn’t mean anything. They are either duped or hoping to make some kind of difference before they die.

This country is purposefully sliding towards fascism, a police state. The elite are sucking all they can get away with, out us the middle class. Wake up.

    http://socialismsucks.net/Paranoias.htm
    “Right-Wing and Left-Wing Paranoia
Right Wing (in America) means favoring private property, individual rights (private enclaves of freedom for peaceful people), free markets, and constitutional limitations on government. In such a system people would be free to satisfy their needs and wants through private alternatives offered by selfish-motivated (profit-seeking and loss-avoiding) businesspeople in the marketplace.

Left Wing means opposition to private property and the desire for the government to take over and control everything (at least the major industries) in one big government monopoly. Under such a system, people have to depend on one monopoly source for the things they need. Private alternative sources, if they exist at all, only exist as “black” (illegal) markets run by criminals.

Right-Wing Paranoia – fear of Big Government abuse of power and tyranny.

Left-Wing Paranoia – fear of corporations and Big Business abuse of power and exploitation.

The Left’s phobia seems excessive or misplaced altogether. Neither corporations nor any other business in the market can actually force (use violence on) people to make us deal with them, buy from them, or work for them. It’s all by voluntary choice and consensual contract. Whatever their faults, businesses — even big corporations — have to rely on persuasion — advertising, marketing, attractive alternative pricing, new products, fancy packaging, etc, not coercion.

As long as a businessman confines his behavior to purely market means (non-violent persuasion), no one is forced at the point of a gun to deal with him. Any coercive power a corporation may have comes from its association with or privileges from . . . . ta-da! . . . interventionist government (political statism)! The source of such abuse is therefore not the market, but interventionist political government — Big Government with the unjust authority to take from some and intervene to dish out goodies and privileges to others, and is made possible only when government is permitted to go beyond its proper role of protecting peaceful citizens’ rights by using its own powers of coercion to combat the use or threat of coericon by criminals and foreign aggressors.

The government cannot give anybody anything without taking it from somebody — and it almost always uses the force of taxation or some other form of coercive intervention to do that. When any agency of government is permitted to do this — to positively intervene in peaceful peoples’ lives by taking away what belongs to some and giving it to others — it is violating the rights of peaceful people and is acting improperly, for it is doing what an ordinary citizen cannot do without himself committing a crime by violating the rights of others.”

“Sure some wealthy liberals give money, but that doesn’t mean anything.” Your quote, not mine 88% of our media funded Obama? That doesn’t mean anything? Man you have a very real problem when it comes to reality and you do not comprehend the consequences of alleged “factual information” shared daily with the public comments of our media via radio/TV/Satellite etc. More than likely you do. Get out your cheat sheet. It may be needed come November. Your ilk bothers me as well as others.

  11. Rob N. Hood August 30, 2010 at 7:44 am #

Don’t know where you got your data (88% of media funded Obama). But it sounds VERY dubious to me. Seems you simply choose to believe whatever info that suits your mentality. And once again you are forgetting the fact that Obama is NOT very Liberal. That is a figment of your fevered right-wing imagination. You people are really out there.

If you’re going to try to persuade people to do something totally alien to their own interests the most powerful tool is a group of their own peers already convinced it’s the right thing to do. Secretly fund them so their peers don’t start asking questions, buy a cable network to produce fake news about your small army of useful fools and set them loose to destabilize and delegitimize what remains of our representative democracy.
    So there’s your answer.

That’s what you get those who already have everything — the power to keep it. The power to crush anyone who tries to take it away.
And it is NOT the Liberals who have this power, it is Conservatives. That is a very basic and simple fact that you wing-nuts apparently will never be able to comprehend. The reason you cannot do that is still a mystery to me and probably always will be. Although there have been studies using psych tests that give us a clue as to what is behind your right-wing thought processes. Those results ain’t pretty.

  12. Rob N. Hood August 30, 2010 at 7:51 am #

Oh and Neil. Your defintions are really cool and all but outdated. Anyway, what you cannot comprehend is this: Our government and the large Corporations are one and the same, more than less. They feed all of us propaganda to avoid the massive rebellion that will one day occur due to this unholy alliance. This alliance has a name by the way, and I didn’t create it- it’s called Fascism.

That is the reality in this country right now- and many others around the world. I don’t see anything stopping it, other than a global depression which is well on it’s way. And when it happens you will be able to wrongly blame the Liberals. Especially if it happens on Obama’s watch. In fact I beleive that is one of the reason he was allowed to win. It will be history that a black Democrat was President when all the shit hits the fan. Nice- and very convenient for the Fascists that truly run the country and most of the world.

I wish there was a similar application for android users.

  14. paul wenum August 30, 2010 at 9:36 pm #

Are you for real? The left wing liberals don’t have the power? Where have you been since 2006, in a time capsule? What do you drink before you post? Tell me, because I don’t want any. Are the black helicopters coming to your door yet? Get real and soon I hope.

  15. Rob N. Hood August 31, 2010 at 9:27 am #

The “liberals” you love to hate are not in power. It is an illusion propagated by the MSM and especially Fox. Our “liberals” are very conservative in reality- only very very slightly to the left of mainstream conservatives. Your inability to recognize this basic fact of life in the good ol’ USA sheds light on your psyche, and others of your ilk. Taking that assessment one step further, it would then, based upon everything I see and read about “your ilk”, make you all insane. Insanity is simply the inability to recognize that which is considered to be reality.

Who decides what reality is? That is a very good question I sense you asking or want to ask. Is it me that does? No. It is a collective thing, elusive perhaps, especially in stressful situations like war for example, but still, undoubtedly, collectively agreed upon moment by moment of the bulk of otherwise sane adults.

One more step to take: your ilk are an extreme portion of this society, and a relatively small one at that (thankfully). This could change of course- if we expericence a serious act of war, or another great depression, or both. But at the present time this makes you, and your ilk, by defintion, insane.

  16. paul wenum August 31, 2010 at 10:15 pm #

Me thinks you are now a “Progressive.” No longer a “Liberal.” Same just different name. Insanity is doing the same thing expecting things to change. Sounds like you my friend.

  17. Rob N. Hood September 1, 2010 at 7:33 am #

    Or perhaps you?

Yes, I am progressive, not regressive. Yes I am Liberal. I choose to evolve not devolve.

  18. Rob N. Hood September 1, 2010 at 7:37 am #

Oh and if you want to learn how a realtive minority, such as the Extreme right-wing, can win elections (other than through good old fashioned fraud and machine tampering) then please read some books about it like “The 15% Solution.”

  19. paul wenum September 1, 2010 at 6:51 pm #

    I read reality, not fiction.

  20. Hal Groar September 2, 2010 at 4:24 pm #

Fraud and machine tampering is the Chicago way! Who is from Chicago? I still can’t get over the fact that Rob say’s Barry is a right winger! Rob have you seen the $10,000 signs on the highways? OOPS! Sorry Rob, you can’t take yer yella bike on the highways. The same guy who just took over healthcare, he is a small gov’t right winger? The same guy who took over GM? We must have different definitions of right and left…Rob you should consult an earlier comment by Neil, then read what you wrote.

  21. Rob N. Hood September 4, 2010 at 9:19 am #

Your very statements highlight your ignorance and/or limited intellectual capacity to discern reality.

Let’s all admit that the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have merged. Let’s all admit that what started out as a grand experiment in setting up a republic called the United States of America with three separate branches of government each serving as a cross-check to the other branches has now turned into a corporate-backed fascist police state now equal, in it’s level of corruption, to the British force that led to America’s revolution.

Now we can move on because it simply is not worth bitching about these known issues and problems.

So, how to move on? Consider the second experiment that is now underway as follows: Since the first tribal society to today’s global society those who are most powerful have dominated and fostered corruption in governing institutions. The weak are cast away and left to die in the wilderness. But alas, the meek shall inherit the earth. Like Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series, two separate groups of humans are evolving: 1) a militaristic group and 2) a psychological intellectual group.

I posit that ultimate (long term) evolution will favor group 2 in terms of survival.

Build small community farms for food supply. Drill down for fresh water that is filtered and controlled by these small, self-sufficient groups. Unplug from the all-seeing eye (internet, cell phone, land line, etc.) and work on developing your psychological and intellectual capabilities.

There is nothing left to salvage from the current America. Leave it to it’s own demise and focus in small groups of like-minded individuals.
