GOP Rips Plan for Climate Office

obama-200‘Propaganda,’ a lawmaker says

By Ben Wolfgang

House Republicans charged Wednesday that the Obama administration is aiming to establish a “propaganda office” for Democratic initiatives on global warming through a proposal to consolidate operations in a new “climate service” office within the Commerce Department

Tensions boiled over at a congressional hearing as officials of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) defended the consolidation plan contained in President Obama’s fiscal 2012 budget and denied having any ulterior motive.

NOAA hopes to move more than 50 percent of its resources into the new climate service department, which it says will serve as the central clearinghouse for farmers, local governments, the military and academics seeking information on climate trends.

But a number of GOP lawmakers, who have staunchly opposed the administration’s climate and energy policies in the past, challenged NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco at a hearing of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee.

Yeah- we don’t need no stinkin’ alternative opinions or data! Bah!

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

Hey if your alternative opinions and data pertained to AGW and related issues, there wouldn’t be a problem. What you post is mostly propaganda from “progressive” (communist) blogs about how right wingnuts are like the nazi party, and such you annoying little child.

  • Joe

    Neil, totally agree.

  • Rob N. Hood

“communist”…. wow. Makes me laugh, and cry. No, Neil, whenever I did post anything directly related to climate change you’d respond the exact same way as you always do. That is another reason why I posted other things. It was like rubber necking a car crash. You people are fascinaitng and horrifying at the same time. I just wanted to expose you for who and what you really are via alternative reality and facts. It worked out pretty well. Oh I also initially, anyway, wanted to see if there was any true logic and rationality behind you groupies. Mission accomplished.

    • Jerk A. Knot

How can you deny it. We have Showed it time after time where your cut and past posts come from and you think you can just laugh it off. How disingenuous…. Again you show your lack of intellectual honesty. Even though your rants, pursuit of class warfare and fear mongering of the right wing are text book communist ploys I don’t think you are one. As I have said before I truly think you are an Anarchist. I think you want the whole system to crumble so that everyone can live the crappy life you have boxed yourself into. That is just my opinion…. If you ask I will back it up with data. I wont be that hard to go back and pull some of the wacky stuff you have plagiarized…. What keeps me interested in you is the pure comedy of it. The way you frame yourself as the victim who if only given a break could save the world from all of the mean over bearing elements of the vast right wing conspiracy that is destroying the world. I think that you see yourself as a renaissance man on a heroic mission to save us from ourselves by bringing logic and reason to this site. In reality you know ZIP about the world or of the science of Climate change. But keep it up. I enjoy the show.

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

Name one instance where you posted something about climate change. I can think of one. And I bet you did that just so you can say you did. You are such an antagonist.

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

BTW the term alternative reality refers to parallel universes, or the multiverse. But in the way you use the term you seem to mean an alternative to reality and facts. So what exactly is the alternative to fact? Well, the answer is simple. The alternative to fact is fiction. And what is the alternative to reality? Well, that’s an easy one too. The alternative to reality is fantasy.

  • Rob N. Hood

We all know you guys think you have cornered the market on smarts and insight and blah blah blah. This is ridiculous and so are you.

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

We have gone through this before. I’m not stupid, but I’m no genius either. I don’t think I’m all that smart, I’m just confident in my beliefs. If you think I am wrong about something present some evidence. Don’t just say I’m wrong and vomit the next article from buzzflash about the wonderful art that depicts the Republican governors on a nazi propaganda flyer. Puh-leeze! Come on. If I am wrong then I CAN BE proven wrong. Just do it, if you can, and quite whining.

      • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

Well, I’m waiting. Show me where I’m wrong, or go pettle your bilge somewhere else.

        • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

What’s wrong RNH? Nothing good on buzzflash at the moment?

          • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

            Thought so.

  • Joe

learned a long time ago that you never argue with a left wing liberal. You are always wrong even if right and you are accused of everything to change the subject addressed. I see with this rob guy that nothing changes nor will it. Get used to it. .

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

Joe I disagree. It is not that difficult to argue with them. What you are saying is you let them win because you are afraid of being called names! You are right about what they do though, they set up false premises, use ad hominem arguments, and non sequitars to change the subject and put you on the defensive. But I think these tactics are easily overcome as long as you do not allow them to continue. What you have to do is keep asserting the original topic and stay the course on it. When they ask you if you still beat your wife, you say “nice try”, and then proceed to ask a question about the original topic, or re-ask the qustion that is being deflected/avoided. It’s not that difficult.

  • Joe

Tough to talk to a left wing liberal when after a direct question you get the “deer in the headlights” look and then the screams of racist, fascist, neo-nazi, blah, blah. Been there done that. Reason goes out the window when talking to the extreme left-wing. Normal democrats that I know and are freinds are a different story. They listen and respond with their reasoning that is not always to my liking. No screaming, or changing the subject. Simply a difference of opinion. There is a difference. About half my freinds are Democrats. Most, however, came from the Depression and were raised to vote DFL! I don’t push the envelope on my freinds. My family also went through the depresssion and have thoughts otherwise that they passed on to me and my family. Isn’t that America?

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

Well Joe You were sounding a bit fatalistic there. I know I said it’s not that diffucult, but I should add that I’m speaking for myself there. Maybe it has been rougher on you than it has been for me.
I’ll share my first experiance with you. I was delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut on Grand Ave. in St. Paul back in the summer of 85′, or 86′, I just returned from a delivery and I saw a young boy, about 12 years old, pissing by the back door that we carry pizzas out of. He slunk away as I pulled up, and as I got out of my car I said “I saw you doing that!” He then proceeded to hurl obsenities at me. I walked over to him and started to read him the riot act, but he was unphased by my admonitions. Just about then, two older teenage boys, who turned out to be the younger one’s brothers, came over and began to argue with me as well. Finally I had it. I told them to go “f” themselves, and went back to work. When I came back from the next delivery, the three boys, and their father were in the front of the store complaining to the manager about me. The manager wanted to get my side of the story so I told him. I thought that after hearing what the younger boy did, the father would, you know like yours or mine would have done, punished the boy for pissing on our back door. How wrong I was! He, the father, proceeded to call me a racist, and launched into a screed about how the whites are destroying the lives of young African Americans, with the CIA bringing cocaine, and crack into their neihborhoods. I was speechless, for a moment. Then I asked him if that made it ok for his son to piss on our back door. Then he was speechless, for a moment. Then he turned to the manager and said that he wanted me fired. Long story short, I ended up quiting the job as I did not feel safe in that neihborhood any longer.

I did not consider that confrontation to be in the “win” category for me, but it did give me a glimpse into the tactics of the Left, and I considered myself a Liberal back then.

  • Rob N. Hood

“Tactics of the Left”??!! No, just one dumba$$ father. No more no less. I could list (but will not no matter how much you cry and complain) MANY similar examples of those on the Right who do the same thing, all the while spouting thier own right-wing talking points/opinions (and one example that was on TV where the wing-nut stomped on a Liberal’s head). And Joe’s depiction of Liberals above reminds me of many instances I have had with those on the Right behaving the same way. Please stop boring us with your inconsequential anecdotes.

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

“I could list MANY similar examples of those on the Right who do the same thing, all the while spouting thier own right-wing talking points/opinions” -RNH.

      Ok, why don’t you?

      • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD

Oh, are you talking about Lauren Valle? Who got her head stomped on by Tim Profitt? Well, Profitt was wrong for doing that, and he was charged for misdeamenor assault. But it’s not surprising that you have the same thoughts about the incident that most Lefties have because I’m sure this is all youv’e seen: http://www.arlingtoncardinal.com/2010/10/26/moveon-org-protester-lauren-valle-gets-her-head-stomped-at-rand-paul-jack-conway-debate/
And this is what Valle said about the video above, which I’m sure is all youv’e heard:
“Well just before the tape I was identified by the Rand Paul campaign because they’ve seen me around town at these events. And they realized they know me because of my work and they don’t support it. So they actually formed a blockade around me once they realized that I was there. And as Rand’s car pulls up they step in front of me and start to block me so I stepped off the curb to try and get around them and at that point they pursued me around the car, chased me around the car, and what you see in the video is when I’m in the front of the car and that’s when I’m pulled down and then my head is stomped on.”

But this is what you have not seen nor heard:
        http://www.redstate.com/rs_insider/2010/10/27/exclusive-video-lauren-valle-before-the-head-stomp-vid/
“Valle reached in the candidate’s window with her “RepubliCorp” sign and shoved it in his face. Several supporters in Paul shirts have her surrounded at that point, and a man in a suit is the first person to actually intervene physically. It’s hard to tell from the video, but it could be that the man in the suit was with Paul’s security staff.”

According to Profitt he was just trying to keep Valle down and used his foot because he can’t bend over due to a bad Back. He also said he feared for candidate Paul’s safety.
That said, I don’t condone stomping on the idiot’s head, but she wasn’t the innocent victim that she has been depicted as in your preferred media. She was restrained by Paul supporters after accosting the candidate twice! Twice!!!! But you exemplify your typical take on things by saying “the wing-nut stomped on a Liberal’s head”. But coming from you it doesn’t surprise me.

      • Rob N. Hood

Isn’t necessary. Truth is evident. So is reality. Just turn on a TV and you’ll see/hear it. You guys are another example. Your silly question doesn’t deserve much effort on my part.

  • Joe

Simply put, you can discuss politics rationally with a Democrat, however, not extreme left wing, there is a difference. Similiar to trying to talk to the extreme right wing. Have argued both and they both have the very extreme agendas no matter what facts you state. Look at Oslo for a classic example of the very extreme right just like the extreme left. There as cases that are similiar on the left as well. That is my point. It will never change.

    • Rob N. Hood

Ummm, the “extreme” Left does not go around blowing up bombs and shooting people. Not that I can recall at least, since the 60’s, and those were very small bombs, and very few of them too. Just sayin’. Let’s stick with reality, shall we?

  • Joe

My nephew lives in Oslo a block away from the explosion on Friday. Thank God he was in South Africa on assignment. He dodged a bullet. Life is good for him today! Always say a prayer before you go to bed. Damn, he’s lucky and by the way, he is a member of the labor party. He and I have excellent discourse on Global warming! At least he is safe and can continue to have point/counter point discussions with “Simple Uncle Joe.”

  • Rob N. Hood

Even Timmy McVeigh was a Righty. Born and bred.

  • Joe

Obama’s best friend damn near killed people in the Pentagon and he’s a Professor????? Theer are wacko’s out there no matter what left or right side you are on PERIOD! Leave it at that. My nephew, I found out is safe. Period!!!

  • Rob N. Hood

Always have to argue and deny the obvious, even the facts. Odd. Oppositional Defiant Disorder? Not only that but Obama’s “friend” of a long time ago was admittedly a would-be terrorist of sorts (60’s or early 70’s) which I had already stated as a given. What is with you people having to argue about nothing or things that have already been admitted or stated as such? I find that very strange and alarming. I could point out that Saddam Hussein was a right-wing creation and ally. Etc. etc etc…. there are too many examples just like this one to even list. Don’t know why I am even bothering to try and converse intelligently with you people. I have to stop. It’s ridiculous.

  • Joe

Yes, it is ridiculous when people will not answer. Find your constant avoidance of direct questions raised as alarming. Sound like children I ask to address a simple question raised. Excuses and avoidance is all we receive.

  • Rob N. Hood

I know you feel that way Paul. As I told you before, I will not continue to respond to your inanities. Very tiresome and disheartening. I did not answer you? Really? That is the way of the radical right. Hold your breath and stomp your feet when you don’t think you are getting your way 100%. Very mature, not.

  • Joe

Whomever this Paul guy is, he is persistent in asking questions that you cannot seem to ever answer. Why may I ask are you on this site or can you not answer that as well?

  • Rob N. Hood

    Clone boy.

  • Joe

Liberals never answer direct questions do they Robbie Boy. Is it that you have no answers with a factual response? Seems so. You have yet to answer one question raised. Saul taught you well. He taught me as well after reading his teachings. How to take on a left wing liberal extremist? Box them in a corner like a cornered wolverine and they start fighting, turf protecting, et al, called survival. Verbally of course. Take on people like you daily and enjoy every moment. I must say, I expect direct responses to simple questions raised. If not, you simply waste my time as well as others on this site. I cut to the chase. You blather and dither around questions asked and statements made. There is the difference betwenn discourse and chastising anyone that disagrees. Think about it. I assume a extreme blistering, hate filed comment will be forthcoming. Prove us all wrong for a change. We await your usual prompt response.

  • Rob N. Hood

    Hold your breath Clone “Boy”.

  • Joe

We are impatiently awaiting. By the way, how’s your 401K?

  • Rob N. Hood

Thanks for askin’… I opted out of all things stock market related when Bushy was destroying the economy.

  • Joe

You sound like “Barrie” Blame everyone but yourself. Typical. Can see it now, 2016, “Bush is the reason!.” Get a life if one truly exists.

  • Rob N. Hood

You asked I answered. Gotta whine about that too??!! Wow…. how sad u r. I got out of the market before it tanked, that’s all. My choice, my foresight. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to see that coming, at the time anyway, or even a climate scientist. Please, have some more cheese with your whine.

  • Joe

Thought that in previous posts I reviewd you were never in “The Market.” Contradiction hear? I eat Cheddar and drink Milk. I don’t drink “Whine” like “kool-Aid” for a liberal.

  • Rob N. Hood

Didn’t say I was never in the market. More cheese for ya?

  • Joe

Good luck Robbie Boy, you will need it in this dire economy. Have two, three jobs? Add three more just to exist the way Pres. “Barrie” has the country going. Enjoy what you have and possibly you wished you voted for someone with business sense? I highly doubt it and I can see the caustic remarks forthcoming. Bring it on. I’m impatiently waiting. Can hardly wait as well as others.
