$7-a-gallon gas?

bpThe folly of O’s oil-spill fix

By Ben Lieberman

President Obama has a solution to the Gulf oil spill: $7-a-gallon gas.

That’s a Harvard University study’s estimate of the per-gallon price of the president’s global-warming agenda. And Obama made clear this week that this agenda is a part of his plan for addressing the Gulf mess.

So what does global-warming legislation have to do with the oil spill?

Good question, because such measures wouldn’t do a thing to clean up the oil or fix the problems that led to the leak.

The answer can be found in Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s now-famous words, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste — and what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

Funny how this disaster is convenient for the agenda.

For anyone out there who says there are no peer reviewed papers skeptical of AGW, here is 750 (and counting) of them.

Ah, yes, the dream of all Democrats: raise the price of gas so it’s out of reach of the average citizen. That’ll show us who large and in charge! If you believe this bologne, well… you might want to move into a padded room for awhile, with some nice meds and a good doctor.

  4. Hal Groar June 20, 2010 at 9:13 pm #

Yes Rob it is. Then they can shuffle all of the unwashed onto their little mass transit and force us to live in two bedroom apartments stacked up 50 high in the inner city. Then the population control starts! It’s all part of the democratic scheme! I believe this, and nothing will change my mind. Ok, so I took license with the population control…but the mass transit and the apartments are part of the agenda, don’t doubt me on this!

It will never change with this administration. Saw a sign today, “$10.00 to take the Obama sign off your car.” Believes that addresses the problem. The public that voted are now thinking/reading/experiencing his inexperience and are tired or paying their neighbors bills as well as their grandchildrens and theirs thereafter. About time America wakes up.

  6. Rob N. Hood June 21, 2010 at 8:16 am #

Yes, let’s vote for the other set of crooks and liars. That’ll solve the problem.
The hypnotized asking those alseep to wake up…

  7. paul wenum June 21, 2010 at 9:39 pm #

No my friend, “True American’s are waking up.” They finally see what they have as a “Leader,” or should I say the “Community organizer? ” There is a difference.

  8. Rob N. Hood June 22, 2010 at 3:22 pm #

Nothing wrong with community organizing or having those skills. Better than having skills as a cheer-leader like someone I know…

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD June 22, 2010 at 10:03 pm #

Those aren’t skills. They are tricks and gimmicks. Skills?………….

  9. paul wenum June 22, 2010 at 10:15 pm #

Skills are nice. Leadership is what is missing.

  10. Rob N. Hood June 23, 2010 at 7:30 am #

So anything “Left” are tricks and gimmicks? To be a community organizer requires good leadership skills. Perhaps the same could be said for cheer-leading, but I’m not so sure.

Or were you saying that cheer-leading requires tricks and gimmicks? In that case I agree with you.

  11. Hal Groar June 23, 2010 at 8:50 pm #

I do not trust anyone who claims to be a community organizer. To be a community organizer you need a cause, a cause that you believe in. If you believe in the cause so much that you go to it for a job, that shows to me that your cause is your life. If it is your life, then you are going to be blind to the people on the other side of that cause. So when you try to organize people, or legislation or whatever they do, you will-by virtue of your job- only give one side of the cause. Thus not being trustful. Now in regards to gas @ $7.00, that would put half the nation out of business. (The other half is already, thanks to Barry)

ACORN has numerous community organizers. Think about it.

    • Rob N. Hood June 26, 2010 at 7:46 am #

ACORN did have… it is now defunct- they were taken out by the Vast Right Wing Conspriacy.

And Hal- so you’d trust a cheerleader?

You guys are dreaming of would-be conspiracies while real-life conspiracies pass you by unknown noticed.

      • Dan June 26, 2010 at 8:54 am #

All ACORN did was change their name and decentralize. The satellite organizations also all changed their names. Just a PR move.

        • Rob N. Hood June 26, 2010 at 9:02 am #

They were legally forced to do that- and they are no longer what they once were, obviously. HOWEVER, they were recently found NOT guilty of all the previous charges that led to their demise. THAT is something that was quietly reported by the “liberal” media. You didn’t hear about that? Not surprised.

You wing-nuts not only kick a man when he’s down, you smash his head as flat as Steve Forbes’ tax idea.

          • Rob N. Hood June 26, 2010 at 9:23 am #

correction- Don’t know if they were “legally forced” to dissolve. Do know their funding dried up so badly that they folded- that was due to the false charges and crap thrown at them and the heavy legal costs involved to defend themselves, etc. Either way- another shameful chapter of the VRC.

As to your June 20th post, suggest that you check Chu’s comments on gas prices being $7.00? Let me know what you find in detail. You have a project to refute what we just said. No blather just facts. Tell us, we are waiting with batted breath!

  14. Rob N. Hood June 26, 2010 at 7:47 am #

Reality Check: As we run out of easily accessible oil the price will go up. Simple economics.

    • TerrydaBear August 8, 2010 at 8:20 pm #

Further Reality Check….uh, RobbingHood?…we won’t ‘runout’…of easily accesible oil anytime soon….being in the ‘Awl Bidness’…for 35 years, I’ve found out many things about oil and it’s discovery/ accesibility…yes the price will go up….but it will go up WAAA-AAY sooner w/ Obama’s plans…WAAAY faster…and you can COUNT on that revenue to never see the light of day…any revenue generated by this administration will simply….disappear…much like the ‘Stimulus’ funds…

  15. paul wenum June 27, 2010 at 11:48 pm #

ACORN is still not off the hook. Chase corporations, LLC’s daily that bury one company today, and like ACORN, simply start another one the next day. Never changes. Wish the government would use the alter ego theory. (One in the same) Doubt that will ever happen.

  16. Rob N. Hood June 28, 2010 at 10:44 am #

The selective reality process is amazing.

  17. paul wenum June 28, 2010 at 9:52 pm #

No. Your knowledge of reality is very suspect at best. I’m being nice for once per Dan.

    • Dan McGrath July 5, 2010 at 10:34 pm #

Thanks, Paul. I’ve rarely had to intervene with one of your comments. You set a good example.

  18. Rob N. Hood July 1, 2010 at 1:45 pm #

Awww, gee. I think your always pretty nice. Not like that nasty Neil…

  19. paul wenum July 2, 2010 at 11:56 pm #

Compliments to my friend Neil will get you nowhere.

  20. Rob N. Hood July 4, 2010 at 7:29 am #

It got your gratuitous (and buttinsky) response.

  21. Dan McGrath July 5, 2010 at 10:35 pm #

Play nice or I’ll have to seperate you!

  22. paul wenum July 6, 2010 at 9:36 pm #

Thanks Dan, I have to hold back the “Scot” in me. Have my mother/father/grandfathers “bullheadedness.” She as others taught me to never back down if you are true in your beliefs. Will keep it family friendly.

  23. Rob N. Hood July 9, 2010 at 6:05 am #

What? The word buttinsky is not tolerated? Really? Really? I mean really??

  24. paul wenum July 9, 2010 at 11:22 pm #

“Buttinsky?” Didn’t he play for “Da” Bears?

  25. Rob N. Hood July 14, 2010 at 7:37 am #

No- I believe he plays for the McGrath team. Or is it the Wenum team? Not sure.

  26. paul wenum July 14, 2010 at 9:44 pm #

Well I must say, we call it “Wenum or Lose em” at my house. Family inside joke for over 100 years in family debates.

It’s about time the consumers, taxpayers, voters and individuals started taking their country back; away from the co-called “green industry”, the oil industry, the financial industry, the government, the socialists, etc. After all, they’re all looking one-in-the-same, now widelyrknown as progenitors of The Crisis Structure.

    If you’re not concerned about confiscation of other people’s hard-earned wealth and your eternal resting place, here’s the easiest way to make a million bucks in crisis-happy America;

    1. Create the perception of crisis (climate change, healthcare, mortgage failure, etc.)

    2. Proffer your own pre-determined, convenient solution.

    3. Lobby your solution into law.

    4. Profit by force at the expense of the masses.

    5. Repeat.

Corporatists, fascists, bureaucrats and socialists have long known the crisis structure is the best method overpowering the whim of the honest individual and intellectual. Good thing the individual is FINALLY waking up, and is taking the initiative to restore liberty, freedom, truth, and preparing to abolish redefinition of the word “is”. Frankly, we’re tired of the crap!

I’ve been waiting for the coming day for over twenty years now. God speed to those who really believe in freedom and want a swift death to the waves of fascism masquerading as security, protection, providence, etc.

    Let freedom ring!
