Noted Warmist: Scientists 'Endorse Al Gore even though they Know what He's Saying is Exaggerated and Misleading'

capitol_report_nmBy Noel Sheppard

A noted “warmist” on Monday said scientists that believe the theory of global warming will “endorse Al Gore even though they know what he’s saying is exaggerated and misleading.”

Richard Muller of the University of California at Berkeley also told Capitol Report New Mexico, “He’ll talk about polar bears dying even though we know they’re not dying.”

I think Muller is being candid and 100% honest. He has admitted that it is all about emotion to get what they want. The ends justify the means. I do not believe this is the way science should be acted upon.

  2. Rob N. Hood November 3, 2011 at 5:52 pm #

What is it that “they want”?

  3. Joe November 3, 2011 at 10:06 pm #

“Ka Ching, Ka Ching” is want they want. It’s all about the money. Very simple.

  4. Rob N. Hood November 4, 2011 at 4:42 pm #

Oh I see… well it usually is about the money. Not always, but usually. Sometimes it’s about morality, spirituality, etc.

  5. Joe November 5, 2011 at 12:23 am #

    Yes, lack of morality!

  6. Rob N. Hood November 5, 2011 at 7:33 am #

    Yep- on both sides.

Ahhhh scientists. They are the paragon of virture, honest and hard working, pillars of our national pride. Right? I mean they are above reproach, are they not? Trustworthy upholders of the scientific facts, and, I dare say, the truth. Right?
Well here’s one that ain’t. Do you remember this:

    http://www.dutchdailynews.com/meat-eaters-selfish-less-social/
“Meat brings out the worst in people. This is what psychologists of the Radboud University Nijmegen and Tilburg University concluded from varrious studies on the psychological significance of meat.

Thinking of meat makes people less socially and in many respects more “loutish”. It also appears that people are more likely to choose meat when they feel insecure, perhaps because it is a feeling of superiority or status displays, the researchers suggest.”

Well, not so fast. Check this out:

    http://www.boston.com/news/science/articles/2011/11/03/dutch_psychologist_built_career_on_faked_data/
“AMSTERDAM—A prominent Dutch social psychologist who once claimed to have shown that the very act of thinking about eating meat makes people behave more selfishly has been found to have faked data throughout much of his career.
In one of the worst cases of scientific fraud on record in the Netherlands, a review committee made up of some of the country’s top scientists has found that University of Tilburg Prof. Diederik Stapel systematically falsified data to achieve the results he wanted.
The university has fired the 45-year-old Stapel and plans to file fraud charges against him, university spokesman Walther Verhoeven said Thursday.
Stapel acknowledged in a statement the accusations were largely true.
“I have manipulated study data and fabricated investigations,” he wrote in an open letter published by De Volkskrant newspaper this week. “I realize that via this behavior I have left my direct colleagues stunned and angry and put my field, social psychology, in a poor light.”-”

If you have not guessed my point yet it is simple. Scientists are people, and are not above any of the failings that anyone else can have.

  8. Rob N. Hood November 6, 2011 at 2:08 pm #

Did I say that Neil? Nope. And your continual posting of anecdotes, even if fact based, is pointless, except to bolster your own sense of personal sense of superiority and reinforce your prejudices.

I was not specifically directing the comment towards you. And don’t lecture me on my posts, you have no leg to stand on there.

      • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD November 6, 2011 at 7:06 pm #

See, if I was replying to you I would have pressed the reply button under your comment, which I did not because I was not addressing you, nor was it meant as a reply to your comment. I think I know why you have reacted in such a vitriolic way to it though. You have reacted with anger, which tells me that I’ve hit a button. And this was not my intention at all. No, what I was doing was just pointing out that scientists are not perfect superhumans that can never err. That they are human beings with the same failings that any of us could have. But the reason I think this angers you is because it goes against your view that there are people, scientists, politicians, out there who just can’t be wrong about anything because they are Liberals. And of course there is yourself, far be it from me to suggest that you yourself may have some kind flaw, or failing. Oh no, perish the thought! And so you lash out like some kind of wounded animal. So I apologise, I wasn’t trying to hurt your feelings.

        • Rob N. Hood November 8, 2011 at 5:19 pm #

Are you sure it’s my feelings that are hurt. It seems wittle Neil’s feelings are a bit bruised if not hurt… I “lash out” ?! LMAO…

      • Rob N. Hood November 8, 2011 at 5:20 pm #

Oh I am so sorry Neil about “lecturing”. Perhaps one could take ones own advice…? but maybe not………

      • Rob N. Hood November 15, 2011 at 5:25 pm #

Really?! then WHO were you responding to? I would really like to know so I don’t make that mistake again.

  10. NEIL F. AGWD/BSD November 6, 2011 at 11:08 pm #

I don’t know, does anyone else out there think I’m a blowhard? Am I too into making comments here? I just think I am expressing my opinion. Anyone other than RNH, V, or Lance think it’s too much? Honestly, I’d like to know.

    • Jerk A. Knot November 7, 2011 at 3:00 pm #

You are a blowhard….but you are the kind I love…. One that uses fact to back up what they say.

      • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD November 7, 2011 at 5:44 pm #

        Thanks, I think.

  11. joe November 8, 2011 at 12:13 am #

Neil, Trust me, you are not what a certain individual claims “a blowhard” and I mean a certain (singular) person. Enough said? Always consider the source, or lack thereof. If you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen, however, we like you in the kitchen, “keep cookin’.”

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD November 8, 2011 at 12:47 am #

      Thanks.

A love fest of the Right… look away… it ain’t pretty.

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD November 8, 2011 at 8:03 pm #

This is why I didn’t ask you.

  13. Rob N. Hood November 9, 2011 at 6:23 pm #

    Well, sorry, but it ain’t…

    • NEIL F. AGWD/BSD November 9, 2011 at 7:19 pm #

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No one says you have to behold.

  14. Joe November 10, 2011 at 9:58 pm #

Neil, trust me. He endorses Al Gore.

  15. Rob N. Hood November 12, 2011 at 8:46 am #

Well, yes Joe, I guess I have basically said as much many times in one way or another. No secret… I fall on that side of the fence at this point, but keeping an open mind in the meantime. If that is what you want to call “endorsing Al Gore” so be it. Although that seems to be a bit hystrionic, but hey if the shoe fits.

  16. Joe November 12, 2011 at 11:44 pm #

If the shoe fits? You actually acknowledged same. Gore is nothing but an imposter trying to be one of the”1%” similiar to Michael Moore?

  17. Rob N. Hood November 15, 2011 at 5:29 pm #

OMG… way too funny!!!!!! You have no idea probably why, so let me explain…. (yes I know MM is wealthy at this point, BUT VERY UNLIKELY IN THE CATEGORY OF THE 1%, in more ways than one, which you cannot comprehend nor will you even try to). And this folks is why we are in the unfortunate situation we are in DESPITE being the number one world power (not for long, with these kind of people voting their hearts and minds…).

  18. Joe November 16, 2011 at 10:28 pm #

Michael Moore with a net worth of $50,000,000.00 is not 1%? What the hell do you drink??? I knew you had a different view but this shows you are either a true idiot that cuts and pastes for others or you live in a different world that nobody with a sincere brain would wish to live. Michael Moore is the 1%!!!!!! What a hypocrite you and MM are! Now, we know what we are up against. Stupidity at it’s finest! You just showed your total lack of knowledge for which you attempt to speak.

  19. Joe November 17, 2011 at 9:49 pm #

No comment Hood????? Investigate. You only respond with sarcasm. What about reality? All are waiting for your pompous response.

  20. Rob N. Hood November 18, 2011 at 5:39 pm #

Sorry, busy with reality at the moment… and thank you for not posting anything pompous since you yourself seem to disagree with that. Your black and white thinking should tip you off that something is not quite right- it must cause you all sorts of inconveniences. Stupidity… is truly a handicap.

  21. Joe November 18, 2011 at 10:32 pm #

Is Michael Moore “1%, or part of the alleged 99%?” If so, do you agree with his statements is the question. A direct answer will suffice or is that to much to ask?

  22. Rob N. Hood November 19, 2011 at 8:41 am #

You are a black and white thinker, thus we cannot communicate effectively. Plus I already answered your question. We’ve been down this lame dead-end road many times.

  23. Joe November 20, 2011 at 10:44 pm #

Negative. You never posted anything as to if Michael Moore is 1% or 99%. You never answer. Dodge and weave like Harry Reid.

  24. Rob N. Hood November 21, 2011 at 4:59 pm #

Uh, sorry, yes I did. More than once. Take that back, I’m not sorry.

  25. Joe November 21, 2011 at 10:58 pm #

    Where!

  26. Rob N. Hood November 23, 2011 at 5:23 pm #

You mean “where?” Find it yourself if you are so concerned about it… which I doubt. I’m tired of repeating myself, for no good reason. You just like to pretend you are the keeper of discourse and master of dialogue, neither of which has any basis in reality.

  27. Joe November 25, 2011 at 10:28 pm #

    What?, Where?

  28. Rob N. Hood November 30, 2011 at 6:43 pm #

    I thought so…

  29. Joe December 2, 2011 at 10:51 pm #

Memories are lost over time. Apparently I assume your script from Gore/Soros was lost? Oh, My God get back on your meds! I assume you indulge in meds don’t you.

I guess Dan did not appreciate my last comment. Simply don’t like being demeaned. Sorry for an inconvenience.

  33. Rob N. Hood December 10, 2011 at 8:46 am #

Joe…. IT WAS A JOKE. If anyone was demeaning… pal, it was YOU. And you followed that up with MORE of the same which even Dan couldn’t abide. I could now say some words of patronizing advice on how to play well with others, but it wouldn’t do any good anyway, and you would victim-up, and probablye sue me too.

  34. Joe December 10, 2011 at 7:35 pm #

Always admit your mistakes. Taught that as a child. “Think before you speak.” Forgot that statement in a heated moment.

  35. Rob N. Hood December 13, 2011 at 11:13 am #

So… you are apologizing, or admitting a mistake? Not real clear, but ok.

  36. Joe December 13, 2011 at 9:52 pm #

Is there a problem with apologizing, saying you are sorry? Oh, I forgot. Progressives are trained not to show their true emotions. Simply follow the leader. Must be entertaining at a liberal/progressive dinner or at Church?

  37. Rob N. Hood December 14, 2011 at 12:08 pm #

Uh, no Joe, that is not what I was saying at all. Communication seems to be a challenge for you. I even accepted it as a fact even though you were anything but clear about it. So much for being nice and accomodating- let alone attempt any real communication. Wow.

  38. joe December 15, 2011 at 11:35 pm #

Read my comment once again. Your spin bores me.

  39. Rob N. Hood December 16, 2011 at 8:27 am #

I did and I have no idea what, if anything, you are trying to convey. Try a little harder. Or not. I really don’t care to engage in nonsense.
