Global Warming: Obituary and Post Mortem

R.I.P. Global Warming 1992-2010

By Dr. Goldstein

2010 will be remembered as the year Global Warming died.  Global Warming was Mann made using clever computer ‘tricks’ and ‘massaged’ data. After slowly developing in the womb of junk science for several years, the primary birth announcement and christening occurred when Al Gore published Earth in the Balance in 1992.  Gore, the self proclaimed genius who had “created the internet” , eagerly adopted Global Warming and put his new baby in the public spotlight.

Global Warming was a very good earner who attracteded billions of investor’s dollars to Gore’s for-profit corporation called Generation Investment Management.  From day one Global Warming was all about making money. His detractors dared to call him a fraudster and a control freak who wanted to tell everyone how to live.

Gore’s book was really quite boring and it failed to get Global Warming the attention (and money) Gore felt his baby deserved, so Gore followed up with An Inconvenient Truth in 2006. The movie will go down in history as an excellent example of what happens when one person, with a hidden financial agenda, tells one side of a story.

Despite it’s success, the wildly popular movie was the beginning of the end for Global Warming. It triggered a quick and lethal downward spiral. The movie galvanized scientists who recognized a bogus pseuo-scientific scam when they saw one. Powerful opposition groups formed around the world. Books were written by scholars that destroyed the credibility of Al Gore’s pride and joy.

Global Warming was a cash cow, and his opposition had no money, but the opposition (“skeptics”) had something more powerful than money: The Truth.

What a great piece! I love the analogy. I think this was the best line: “Like a scene from a ‘B’ horror movie, the climate profiteers are trying to resuscitate the maggot-infested carcass of Global Warming. New lies and new scare tactics are being cooked up as I write this.” Awesome.

Bravo! I have only just found your website (thanks to Google Alerts for keyword ‘global warming’) and share your concerns 110%. I would be extremely worried if climate stopped changing. The Mann made Goricle is nothing but a complete scam; a fanciful religion set up to bleed and financially cripple the citizens of the world – especially the poor.

Welcome! That is the view of 99% of the posters here. I look forward to reading your take on these stories.

But 110% is impossible. Oh I forgot for a moment that as a right-winger reality doesn’t concern you much. But you care about the poor… hmmmm… that’s so noble… what has the Right-wing done for the poor lately?

Greenpeace released a terrific report today on the 20-year campaign by polluters to mislead the public by creating the climate denial industry. The new report succinctly explains how fossil fuel interests used the tobacco industry’s playbook and an extensive arsenal of lobbyists and “experts” for hire in order to manufacture disinformation designed to confuse the public and stifle action to address climate change.

If 10=100% then 11=110% duh! Totally possible.

That was an uplifting article, although I am not letting my guard down. There are those out there who still insist the science is settled. Some even hold the highest office in the nation. (some just run around in the woods and shoot arrows with a guy named Fryer) I do not feel this is over. With the way health care was forced on us, I think there will still be a push for cap’n’trade. That would be the nail in the economic coffin of the U.S. Keep vigilant and fight the hell out of this bill. That’s what I’ll be doing.

Remember a little while ago we were wondering what the next tactic will be for the alarmists? Well, here is a bit of an I told you so. http://www.heartland.org/full/27368/The_Next_Big_Thing.html
“The Next Big Thing in environmental politics will be “ocean acidification.”
That was assured this month when the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency caved in to to the bullying tactics of enviro pressure groups, and proclaimed that EPA regulators will use the Clean Water Act to remedy a problem that doesn’t exist.”

Hey Rob, After Obamacare was passed without bipartisan agreement, how many times have you been in the doctor’s office?
Don’t let the oild and tobacco polluters pollute your life. Go to the doctor, it is free, or even better, working people will pay for you!!!

  7. Rob N. Hood April 1, 2010 at 6:33 am #

Bush did EVERYTHING in a non-bipartisan manner. Your point is?

    • Dan McGrath April 1, 2010 at 8:23 am #

Wha? Bush and Clinton were both triangulators on domestic issues.

Robbie Boy, Get back on point as to why you are here, if you are?

  13. Rob N. Hood April 18, 2010 at 2:45 pm #

You haven’t figured that out…….. yet?

  14. paul wenum April 18, 2010 at 10:12 pm #

Yes…….. I figured that out month’s ago. I’ve been on to you since my first post. What’s new?

  15. Rob N. Hood April 20, 2010 at 10:45 am #

Then why did you ask? Maybe you could tell me. Cuz at this point I don’t really know myself.

  16. paul wenum April 20, 2010 at 11:10 pm #

Rob, I know that you don’t know yourself. Start reading both sides in more detail and keep your mind open. You think you know yourself, but do you? Do I?, No. Never will. I change daily like everyone should. I’m a chameleon that changes colors like politicians changes sides. Am I right?, am I wrong? Always depends on the circumstance. You will know yourself when you have inner peace knowing that you have done everything in your power/life to help and assist others with no regard for yourself. Only then will you find inner peace and know the path you wish to follow. Caveat. that’s up to you. Not others, never forget that my friend.
