Global Warming Alarmism Exposed

pat_andersonBy Pat Anderson

This week, as Governor Pawlenty was making his historic announcement, I was part of a delegation of Minnesotans attending the Third International Conference on Climate Change, sponsored by the Heartland Institute. This is the third conference in little over a year to draw attention to the widespread and growing dissent over the alleged “consensus” on “Global Warming” or “Climate Change.”

The conference coincided with the release of  “Climate Change Reconsidered: The 2009 Report of the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change.” The report thoroughly documents the challenges to the global warming thesis, from problems with the models, to faulty temperature record observations and other data and with competing theories about the biology and physics of the effects of the gasses that impact the climate.   The entire 800+ page report is available for free online at the Heartland Institute web site.

At the same time that there are serious doubts about the science, the costs of government regulation touting environmental benefits in reducing carbon and greenhouses gasses are becoming clearer.  And they are high.  According to the Heartland Institute, reducing greenhouse gas emissions “even modestly” is estimated to cost the average household in the U.S. approximately $3,372 per year and would destroy 2.4 million jobs. Electricity prices would double, sending more businesses into bankruptcy and others overseas to countries that aren’t burdened with high regulatory costs.  Much of the funding for “climate change” will do nothing to help the environment at all, instead going directly to radical environmental groups who will use those resources to create sophisticated propaganda and lobbying campaigns to promote an anti-business, anti-growth agenda.  If supporters of the free market do not continue to work to expose the fact the very basis, for the theories of  global warming and climate change are in dispute, we will be fighting an uphill battle for our future economic prosperity down the road.

No one has raised the question of just what the impact would be on agriculture. It is an elist move: Those who control the food control the population.

Why should any of this matter? According to Rob N’ Hood this is a vast minority of scientists, and what they think doesn’t matter. In fact, this probably didn’t really even happen at all. I mean come on, the IPCC has spoken. Who would deny what they say? Really, if these people had any concern at all for the future of the planet, or for our children, and our children’s children, they would sit down and shut up and agree with James Hansen.

I came across a story from the Boston Globe. Its from 01/06/08. Well over a year ago. I don’t remember seeing this on the national news, I wonder why…..
    (link)
But of course, this is just another thing we need to ignore, and shut up about, so we can let Al Gore dictate what we should do. The IPCC is all knowing, all powerful, and in the vast majority. And they really have America’s best interests at heart. I mean come on, if you want to build a new country, you have to tear down the old one. Right?
Oh, and if you disagree with that you’re a psychologically deficiant monster that wants children to suffer in the coming catastrophe, and if you reject the premise, you are a knuckle-dragging-scotch-breath-red-faced-neocon-facist-extremist…….
    Did I miss anything Rob?

Neil, I don’t have to add anything. Thank you!

    You’re welcome.

There is something that bothers me. The people who believe that the planet has a fever have a disconnect. Seriously, do they completely ignore their own senses? It is June 9th, and here in St. Paul, MN. it is 47 degrees F. 47!!!! All last weekend the temps didn’t even get above 60. Today its supposed to get to 65 by 5:30.
Part of my job is repairing air conditioners. This same time last year we were busy working on tons of AC’s. If it wasn’t for a massive Maytag recall on refrigerators, I would have been laid off last month. I have only worked on three AC’s in the last two months.
I know that from what I see locally, its not a complete picture of the planet’s climate. But really, it does make one consider what the rhetoric has been, as opposed to what one observes.
According to Al Gore, James Hansen, and the IPCC the warming should be considerable, and noticable. But here where I live it is considerably, and noticeably cooler. So who am I supposed to believe? James Hansen, Al Gore, and the IPCC? Or should I believe my own eyes and galvanic skin response?
Excuse me, I have to button up my shirt now, I’m getting goose bumps.

    Jagged:
There are impacts to agriculture that are happening right now. Especially when you talk about ethanol. Because the government subsidises farmers to grow corn for ethanol, more land is being diverted from growing other crops. This has been directly correlated to worldwide food shortages, and food riots in Haiti.
You also said that those who control the food control the population. I think this is only true to a point. Because we have a free market, for now, If you try to exert control over people by, say, raising prices, they will find a cheaper price elsewhere. I think your statement is more likely to be the case in countries like Somalia, where that is exacly what happened, and what is part of what led to the “Black Hawk Down” disaster.

Sun Spots? Anyone see any Sun Spots? Pondering? Where does the Earth get it’s heat from?????

  9. Neil F. June 10, 2009 at 10:11 pm #

    Tom:
    Exelent point!
Of course the sun is the engine that drives the climate not only here on Earth, but on all of our neighboring planets. But don’t expect anyone who believes in AGW to say so.

No it can’t be that giant ball of plasma thats a million miles wide, why its CO2, that pesky trace gas, that’s giving the planet a fever.

But the AGW true believers don’t want to hear that they are wrong, so they go into denial mode. I did a search for stories on the current solar cycle. Just about every single one of them went something like this: “Yeah, solar cycle 24 was supposed to start in March of 08′ and it hasn’t started yet. The maunder minimum, which happened during the little ice age, was another period of low sunspot activity. But scientists are unable to determine if there is a link between low sunspot activity and cooling temperatures. And CO2 is causing global warming.”
I’m paraphrasing, of course, but that is pretty much what is being reported about it.
Iguess they have not seen this:
    http://www.junkscience.com/Greenhouse/Cosmic_rays_and_climate.html

“this new work is a severe blow to proponents of the enhanced greenhouse hypothesis and advocates of Anthropogenic Global Warming who have worked so hard to deny solar influence on global climate.”

    Don’t worry, be happy!

House Republicans today introduced their alternative energy plan. Developed by the Republican American Energy Solutions Group, the American Energy Act is billed as an “all of the above” energy program.

But as The Wonk Room’s Brad Johnson notes, the legislation looks more like an attempt to legislate the threat of global warming “out of existence.” Indeed, the bill specifically states that at no point in implementing their energy plan can the effects of global warming on the environment “be considered for any purpose”:

Johnson remarks, “The Republican response to our dependence on fossil fuels and their pollution is to give billions of dollars in new tax breaks and subsidies to the oil, coal, and nuclear industries.”

I woke up early this morning for no reason. So I went online and read some articles on global warming to see if there is anything new. I didn’t see anything new, but I have detected a pattern. Every article that I read about global warming always sites the same three sources. Those sources are; James Hansen from NASA’s GISS, the IPCC, and computer models from various sources. It’s kinda creepy how their assertions always come down to one, or all of these.
James Hansen is either a liar who intentionally manipulates his data to reflect his belief in AGW, or he is an incompetent fool that makes mistakes that reflect his belief in AGW. His data has had to be corrected at least two times in the last five years. Either way he should have been fired years ago.
The IPCC is a political organization of the U.N. Whos summeries for policymakers are constantly criticised by scientists that have had their work mischaracterised by the lead authors.
And climate computer models are always held up as proof of global warming, even though it is never explained that computer models can only make predictions based on the data that is input into the computer. I’m saying that a computer model will reflect the beliefs of the programmer.
In other words if you input into a computer model that Mars is populated with a warmongering race of aliens who have expressed an interest in invading Earth, the computer will predict that we will be invaded by Martians……….. sometime soon.
I don’t understand why people put their trust into these three sources I mention. It seems to me that they want to believe that we are going to destroy ourselves. And that we can act to make sure that doesn’t happen. I think it’s hogwash.
You never hear anybody mention that global temps peaked in 1998, and have been on a downward trend for 11 years. Even as CO2 levels continue to rise.
You never hear anyone say that global temps were 2 degrees c. warmer than the peak in 98′ during the medieval warm period. But they were, and that was definately not caused by anthropogenic greenhouse gases.
I contend that if you believe that recent warming is caused by man, that you are a victim of hype and propaganda. And the real goal of the global warming agenda is to destroy America.

  13. Robert N. Hudd June 13, 2009 at 8:10 am #

What’s up with the melting Ice Cap on Mars anyway? Neil?

  14. Rob N. Hood June 13, 2009 at 12:21 pm #

And why do you think that the destruction of America is the goal? What would happen then, who would benefit from that? Just asking.

  15. Rob N. Hood June 13, 2009 at 9:46 pm #

Your words guy- not mine. What’s up with that? It’s a legitimate question for you to respond to. Haven’t you said that, am I wrong about that?

  16. Paul Wenum June 16, 2009 at 9:52 pm #

I know quite a few “educated idiots” with PH’Ds, MBA’s etc. They always quote what “The book says”, “Albert Gore says”, (Albert is not a climatologist) and that what they say is correct, PERIOD! If you disagree, you are an idiot for challenging their statements. According to our present administration, Hansen rules, period. Not Spencer or others that Hansen worked under at NASA that disagrees with his assessment. That does not count nor is reported. Journalism is dead in America as far as I’m concerned.

“So many different viewpoints by so many different people are starting to drive me to distraction. But isn’t that the point? It would be a very bad thing for those that are supposedly running this country if the people were all on the same page and actually realized what was going on. I call this part of our “American experience” pure fantasy wrapped in solid, realistic, wishful thinking. We can’t see the forest not for the trees, but because there is no forest, it’s been mortgaged to China along with the rest of the country.

I don’t want anyone thinking that those in power don’t know what they are doing; they know exactly what they are doing. This doesn’t mean that Obama knows what he is doing, but he isn’t the one in power now, is he? No, the sad truth is that those that make policy while the politicians play pretend know exactly what they are doing. The days of nation-states setting policy for themselves is quickly coming to a close. Those who are fortunate/unfortunate to understand the big game plan really don’t have the heart to tell the governments that believe they are running their countries the truth, the game plan has changed and if this were baseball, the politicians would be playing the position of left-out.

The transnational corporations, the NGO’s and the large foundations and commissions, along with the Federal Reserve, are running the show here in America. They give the people and their elected or unelected representatives just enough power to cause the masses to polarize into one bloc or another, and to fight over things that make good press and keep them divided, but in reality they don’t amount to anything that comes close to being important.

Just for a moment, consider the massive “bail-outs” that most countries are funding to try and keep their economies afloat. Some say that they are a good thing, and some say that they will drive the global economy to ruin. The truth is that these massive cash infusions, usually achieved by printing fiat currency, are only benefitting one sector; the central banks that print money and then charge their nations that take it… interest. In the United States, every dollar printed by the Federal Reserve comes with its own debt attached. I’ve heard all kinds of rates mentioned and the one I hear the most is 8%. This means that for every dollar the United States receives from the Fed, we pay $1.08.

Here is where this gets a bit mind-boggling. I’ve read that the bail-outs have cost America upwards of 14 TRILLION DOLLARS. If anyone figured this out, the Federal Reserve, made up of private for-profit banks, made somewhere in the vicinity of 1.12 Trillion Dollars in interest alone just printing this money! So how does this affect your perception of fiscal responsibility? Will you file this article away in a small, dusty and dark part of your mind and relegate this information to the “I can’t do anything about it” file? Just dwell on the numbers for a bit. This is over a Trillion dollars! That could fund single-payer medical insurance for the entire nation!

    Who Owns The Federal Reserve?

Let’s take a look at how the ownership of this fraudulent central bank reveals powerful families like the Rockefellers and Rothschild’s.

    * Rothschild Banks of London and Berlin
    * Lazard Brothers Bank of Paris
    * Israel Moses Sieff Banks of Italy
    * Warburg Bank of Hamburg, Germany and Amsterdam
    * Kuhn Loeb Bank of New York
    * Lehman Brothers Bank of New York
    * Goldman Sachs Bank of New York
    * Chase Manhattan Bank of New York (Controlled by the Rockefeller Family Tree)

You be the judge. Remember, this country is now run by corporations which have no other interest than their financial well-being in mind. They are transnational corporations that have no loyalty to any one nation. Since the government bail-outs and investments in insurance companies, auto manufacturers, investment banks, commercial banks and many other corporations, the U.S. is truly morphing into a corporate-state.

Only when corporate money is removed from the political campaigns, and PAC’s and lobbyists are strictly regulated so that corporate influence is not the predominant power in government, only then will the people be once again represented by their elected officials. Corporate money is the prime funding for State and Federal election campaigns. It has been said that the business of America is business. I don’t believe however, that this is what anyone desired.”

I’ve seen the video on the federal reserve bank conspiracy. Multinationals playing chess and looking for a world currency so they can play more money games. Call me stupid and naive, but I still believe in the spirit of America, free running capitalism and everything anti-themic to socialism.

The AGW theory is busted six ways from Sunday but has been a convenient tool for socialists. By claiming an impending world catastrophe, it then becomes every human’s “duty” to prevent it at all costs, even to one’s self. Tax bill will do nothing to stop global warming, in general, and nothing to stop AGW, if there actually is any. Because in order to get rid of any possible AGW, you must get rid of A(nthro), as in humans. I’ve never seen a theory as wrong on just about every single point as AGW. Newton’s theories were accurate to a point and still have some uses. Einstein was wrong on some things, useful on others. Even Quantum Mechanics can explain some things, though not all. But AGW has been proven wrong every single time. As for credentialed scientists who still wish to believe in it, well, other scientists in Galileo’s day were sure that he was quite wrong. And they had the force of their institutions and the support of the Catholic Church behind them.
