Climate Activists Tout Effectiveness Of School Brainwashing

brainwashed-kidsClimate change activists are touting new evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of educational programs that seek to transform American schoolchildren into anti-carbon activists through the power of animation and freestyle rapping.

The Alliance for Climate Education (ACE) is a non-profit organization that seeks to educate students on climate science and inspire them to take collective action to fight global climate change.

One of the major ways it does so is by organizing school assemblies in which it uses cartoons, music, and even rapping to motivate children to stop living large and join climate activist groups. The assembly has been performed at over 2,300 schools and has reached over 1.7 million students. The long-term goal is to boost climate engagement among young people and minorities, mobilize some of them to become activists for the cause, and in turn counteract recent evidence that relatively few Americans are worried about climate change as an issue.

Now, a new study released in the latest edition of the journal Climatic Change indicates that this school propagandizing may be working. Researchers from Yale, Stanford, and George Mason University surveyed a total of 1,241 high school students at 49 schools that hosted the assemblies to gauge their opinions and actions regarding climate change both before and after the presentations.

They teach science in school nowadays??? How shameful!

Precisely the response I’d expect from a clearly hardcore socialist.

You’re not interested in science, only ideological positions.

        I’m not a socialist.

Oh…a full-on commie then? Green anarchist? Progressive? Just a troll?

Jim.. dude. settle down. I gotta say, I’m not getting brainwashed here. we are getting taught both sides of this issue, and because the following on the “global Warming is a Hoax” side is smaller and generally covered by right wings who don’t know what they’re talking about. Which is where that sarcasm comes from. It’s not your fault exactly. It is the fault of the extremists who post jaded, moronic findings that make all of you look stupid. You shouldn’t be hating on people for giving their opinion, when it’s exactly what you’re doing.

So, let me guess, what they teach you about global warming skeptics is that we’re extremist jaded morons. Is that what being taught both sides of the issue means?

      • Stephen November 21, 2014 at 1:02 pm #

Oh no. I’m calling the stupid skeptics morons. This site is actually trying, with a fair amount of strong opinions, though. From all the comments I’ve seen, I think you all genuinely hate people who believe in Global Warming, which I think is wrong. Who cares? Why does either side have to be right? What are you going to do if you’re wrong?

Well, for decades us “deniers” have been assaulted incessantly by those claiming that CO2 is rapidly warming the atmosphere, and saying we need to take drastic action to curb emissions.
Well there is no warming, and I think it is a little arrogant of you to dismiss arguments from my side of the debate with the ad hominem fallacy of claiming we are stupid morons.

“The reason why an ad Hominem (of any kind) is a fallacy is that the character, circumstances, or actions of a person do not (in most cases) have a bearing on the truth or falsity of the claim being made (or the quality of the argument being made).”

Upon further thought, I believe there is a flaw to your approach here. The very fact that you’ve decided to comment here belies the fact that you fear what is said here. What are you afraid of? Why even bother to comment if we’re such stupid morons? No, you attack because you either fear us, or we threaten you. Which is it?
