Climate Skeptics Parachute into Climate Conference City Waving Climategate 2.0 Banners

From the Blaze

On Tuesday, a skydiving team from the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) parachuted down on Toti beach, near the city where the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is taking place.

The skydivers carried two signs, one reading “Climategate 2.0 Science Not Settled”, the other “No New Treaty CFACT”. According to a CFACT press release, the dramatic entrance into Durban, South Africa, was to bring attention again to the Climategate 2.0 emails, which were leaked last month.

“Media covering COP17 are kidding themselves if they think they can ignore and wish away Climategate 2.0,” said CFACT Executive Director Craig Rucker in the press release.  “Lord Monckton, the folks from Climate Depot and I will carry our message by parachute if that’s what it takes to wake up this conference and place the Climategate evidence of corrupted science where the world must see it.”

We’ve come full circle. The rightwing is using leftwing tactics ala Greenpeace… the world must really be ending soon. Geriatric skin flapping in the wind…

Why not? It’s ok when greenpeace does it, but not when someone who you disagree with does it? That’s a bit of a double standard. I think it is wonderful that this stunt was done.

It’s called irony, Neil. I didn’t object to it (just making fun of it a little bit, not the tactic itself), and making a joke about it. You are being histrionic, again. Communication is tricky but I think you need to try harder. Can you deny my point that it’s type of tactic has been traditionally left wing? Nevermind- you don’t want any civil discourse- you just want to play the victim, over and over again. That too is a new right wing tactic actually. You are a good foot soldier

“Seven blunders of the world that lead to violence; wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, worship without sacrifice, politics without principle.

And your point is to a “worker”????? Nice to pontificate with a dead man’s words instead of your own. Can you think and write or do you cut and paste? I see a consistent pattern.

Really Joe? Then you see very little, if at all.

If Mahatma had died from Agent Orange you’d proffer a bit more respect to that “dead man”?

You love to hit below the belt. Where you a fighter? If so, below the belt hits are not legal. Not that you really care.

You are projecting onto me what has been and is your modis operandi. What happened to “point/counterpoint”?

    Love to “poject.”

Barack Obama will be re-elected not as a vindication of his policies but because the Republicans are incapable of providing a reasonable challenge to his flawed performance. On the central issue of our time–reining in the greed of the multinational corporations, led by the financial sector and the defense industry–a Republican presidential victor, with the possible exception of the now-sidelined Ron Paul, would do far less to challenge the kleptocracy of corporate-dominated governance. Unfortunately, Ron Paul’s negatives are too huge for most people to swallow.
