Climategate scientists DID collude with government officials to hide research that didn't fit their apocalyptic global warming

  • nigel_lawson_319374a5,000 leaked emails reveal scientists deleted evidence that cast doubt on claims climate change was man-made
Experts were under orders from US and UK officials to come up with a ‘strong message’
  • Critics claim: ‘The stink of intellectual corruption is overpowering’
  • Scientist asks, ‘What if they find that climate change is a natural fluctuation? They’ll kill us all’

By Rob Waugh

More than 5,000 documents have been leaked online purporting to be the correspondence of climate scientists at the University of East Anglia who were previously accused of ‘massaging’ evidence of man-made climate change.

Following on from the original ‘climategate’ emails of 2009, the new package appears to show systematic suppression of evidence, and even publication of reports that scientists knew to to be based on flawed approaches.

And not only do the emails paint a picture of scientists manipulating data, government employees at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are also implicated.

One message appeared to show a member of Defra staff telling colleagues working on climate science to give the government a ‘strong message.’

The emails paint a clear picture of scientists selectively using data, and colluding with politicians to misuse scientific information.

‘Humphrey’, said to work at Defra, writes: “I cannot overstate the HUGE amount of political interest in the project as a message that the government can give on climate change to help them tell their story.”

I’d like to know the leakers identity…… so he or she can be given a medal. I think this person, or persons perhaps, have done more for science than almost anybody.

I agree. Must be “Deepthroat?” Will never hear until it is all over and exposed will we?

“‘Any work we have done in the past is done on the back of the research grants we get – and has to be well hidden.” How do you take that out of context “Dr.” Mann?

  4. Joe November 29, 2011 at 9:59 pm #

Words will get you ever time. Taken out of context? I, as you, doubt it but watch the spin.

      I’m a-dizzin’ from the spinnin’!

Cool blue? Looks different Dan. Hey check out the apostrophes in the main page articles. Looks like something from a foreign language.

“The extreme language and wild claims concerning the potential glories of wind power are becoming more and more exotic and are rapidly being blown further away from reality by the wind of reason. We really need a wind of change to blow now to bring debate back to sound logical discourse on the real strengths and weaknesses of wind power.”

Sneaky corporations…!? Oh wait, they- are our friends…. our “job creators” (not to be confused with our Creator)…. our benefactors…. our mommies and daddies… our security blankets…. not to mention our security militarily…. etc. Without them (the new Gods of modernity) we’d be LOST!!!

And I know you think Liberals feel that way about the Government, and it is similar, to be honest about it. However, there’s a difference, and that is the crux of our division as a country. Neither is perfect, and never will be. But one side has a MUCH bigger profit motive than the other- and therein lies the reason why one cannot do what the other can for the maximum benefit of the country and its people. The private market is great for a vast many things, and should be (will be) encouraged to continue as such. OTHER things, such as health care, cannot and should not, be placed at the mercy of the profit motive. There are only a few things that shouldn’t be privatized. This was once common sense.

The dif is Big Government steals its money with the threat of violence while Big Corporations earn theirs by providing goods and services that people want. Everything except defense should be privitized.
100,000 forensic accountants should be hired to go over every penny spent by govt and it should be found out how much makes it into political parties. Govt political hacks have no business being involved in healthcare. Trial privatization of every aspect of govt should occur at the state level first. No govt employee should be allowed to earn more that $60,000 per year. Nor work for govt for more than 10 years. Govt worker should come as close to 50/50 from both political parties. There are 1000’s of school board members in Florida alone that make over $200,000 per year! and they don’t teach one child how to spell one word. The dept of energy does not produce one kilowatt of energy!

RNH, Just what are you talking about and to whom are you directing your rant? Are you on the wrong site, or were the mushrooms on the delivered pizza the wrong ones? This does not make “common sense.” Man, you are delusional!

  11. Rob N. Hood December 14, 2011 at 12:00 pm #

Nevermind. I’m sorry for causing you to think outside your box. You could just ignore me, but for some reason that is hard for you. I plan on stopping posting things here. It’s hard to stop, for some reason, just as it is hard for you to ignore “outside” postings, etc.

  12. Joe December 15, 2011 at 7:34 pm #

Life is choices. Your option to opt out isn’t it? Ooh that’s right. “Nevermind”

  13. Rob N. Hood December 16, 2011 at 8:19 am #

Again I need to correct you. I’ve been here MUCH longer than you have, and so I cannot be accused of opting out by any rational person. Even Neil could attest to that. It is you who opts out, every time you deride and dismiss other points of view as you did above. And I am so very tired of it- it has become depressing attempting the impossible of actually conversing rationally on this site.

  14. joe December 17, 2011 at 1:56 am #

So Neil says I’m irrational? I have no problem with Neil’s statements. I sincerely respect Neil’s thoughts and input on this site. He “rules” and “rocks” in his knowledge and in his investigations for which I congratulate him!

If you are tired of my responses it is simple, just simply don’t respond. Remember, for ever action there is a reaction. No reaction, no response. Simple human nature. By the way, I teach that to my dedicated employees. My employee/students have been taught/instructed to never move, blink, cough etc. until the time is right. Unfortunately, their teacher slips on occasion without their knowledge having an extreme temper when confronted with inaccurate statements that is his core belief. Been guilty of that on occasion. (Rarely) Oh well, I guess I’m human as well as my staff, are you?

  15. Rob N. Hood December 17, 2011 at 9:25 am #

I didn’t say Neil thought you irrational, or would or should. Please read more slowly so you can comprehend better which will assist the direction of your rants. You sound all too human, sort of, to an extreme. And no, I am not human. Why would you ask such a silly question? (please don’t answer, I can’t take much more of this- and yes I will begin to ignore you, have no doubts about that)

    Ignorance they say is bliss.

  17. Rob N. Hood December 18, 2011 at 6:00 pm #

    U would know.

  18. Joe December 19, 2011 at 10:49 pm #

I do and I “read slowly.”

  19. Rob N. Hood December 21, 2011 at 8:06 am #

    “Ok”

“Many are destined to reason wrongly, others, not to reason at all; and others to persecute those who do reason.”
    Voltaire

  21. Joe December 21, 2011 at 11:09 pm #

You read Voltaire? Shocking. Then you must know that you are incorrect in all your previous statements and no, I will not get into a discussion about Voltaire and statements hereafter. You actually read Voltaire? Really? Could have knocked my off my chair with a feather. Will wonders ever cease?

  22. Rob N. Hood December 22, 2011 at 8:14 am #

The wonders of the depth of human ignorance and hypocrisy is as you imply indeed infinite.

  23. Joe December 22, 2011 at 9:49 pm #

Voltaire was full of contradictions. However enjoy the reads.
