‘Propaganda,’ a lawmaker says

House Republicans charged Wednesday that the Obama administration is aiming to establish a “propaganda office†for Democratic initiatives on global warming through a proposal to consolidate operations in a new “climate service†office within the Commerce Department
Tensions boiled over at a congressional hearing as officials of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) defended the consolidation plan contained in President Obama’s fiscal 2012 budget and denied having any ulterior motive.
NOAA hopes to move more than 50 percent of its resources into the new climate service department, which it says will serve as the central clearinghouse for farmers, local governments, the military and academics seeking information on climate trends.
But a number of GOP lawmakers, who have staunchly opposed the administration’s climate and energy policies in the past, challenged NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco at a hearing of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee.

Name one instance where you posted something about climate change. I can think of one. And I bet you did that just so you can say you did. You are such an antagonist.
BTW the term alternative reality refers to parallel universes, or the multiverse. But in the way you use the term you seem to mean an alternative to reality and facts. So what exactly is the alternative to fact? Well, the answer is simple. The alternative to fact is fiction. And what is the alternative to reality? Well, that’s an easy one too. The alternative to reality is fantasy.

learned a long time ago that you never argue with a left wing liberal. You are always wrong even if right and you are accused of everything to change the subject addressed. I see with this rob guy that nothing changes nor will it. Get used to it. .
Joe I disagree. It is not that difficult to argue with them. What you are saying is you let them win because you are afraid of being called names! You are right about what they do though, they set up false premises, use ad hominem arguments, and non sequitars to change the subject and put you on the defensive. But I think these tactics are easily overcome as long as you do not allow them to continue. What you have to do is keep asserting the original topic and stay the course on it. When they ask you if you still beat your wife, you say “nice try”, and then proceed to ask a question about the original topic, or re-ask the qustion that is being deflected/avoided. It’s not that difficult.
Tough to talk to a left wing liberal when after a direct question you get the “deer in the headlights” look and then the screams of racist, fascist, neo-nazi, blah, blah. Been there done that. Reason goes out the window when talking to the extreme left-wing. Normal democrats that I know and are freinds are a different story. They listen and respond with their reasoning that is not always to my liking. No screaming, or changing the subject. Simply a difference of opinion. There is a difference. About half my freinds are Democrats. Most, however, came from the Depression and were raised to vote DFL! I don’t push the envelope on my freinds. My family also went through the depresssion and have thoughts otherwise that they passed on to me and my family. Isn’t that America?
Well Joe You were sounding a bit fatalistic there. I know I said it’s not that diffucult, but I should add that I’m speaking for myself there. Maybe it has been rougher on you than it has been for me.
I’ll share my first experiance with you. I was delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut on Grand Ave. in St. Paul back in the summer of 85′, or 86′, I just returned from a delivery and I saw a young boy, about 12 years old, pissing by the back door that we carry pizzas out of. He slunk away as I pulled up, and as I got out of my car I said “I saw you doing that!” He then proceeded to hurl obsenities at me. I walked over to him and started to read him the riot act, but he was unphased by my admonitions. Just about then, two older teenage boys, who turned out to be the younger one’s brothers, came over and began to argue with me as well. Finally I had it. I told them to go “f” themselves, and went back to work. When I came back from the next delivery, the three boys, and their father were in the front of the store complaining to the manager about me. The manager wanted to get my side of the story so I told him. I thought that after hearing what the younger boy did, the father would, you know like yours or mine would have done, punished the boy for pissing on our back door. How wrong I was! He, the father, proceeded to call me a racist, and launched into a screed about how the whites are destroying the lives of young African Americans, with the CIA bringing cocaine, and crack into their neihborhoods. I was speechless, for a moment. Then I asked him if that made it ok for his son to piss on our back door. Then he was speechless, for a moment. Then he turned to the manager and said that he wanted me fired. Long story short, I ended up quiting the job as I did not feel safe in that neihborhood any longer.
I did not consider that confrontation to be in the “win” category for me, but it did give me a glimpse into the tactics of the Left, and I considered myself a Liberal back then.

I could list (but will not no matter how much you cry and complain) MANY similar examples of those on the Right who do the same thing, all the while spouting thier own right-wing talking points/opinions (and one example that was on TV where the wing-nut stomped on a Liberal’s head). And Joe’s depiction of Liberals above reminds me of many instances I have had with those on the Right behaving the same way. Please stop boring us with your inconsequential anecdotes.

Oh, are you talking about Lauren Valle? Who got her head stomped on by Tim Profitt? Well, Profitt was wrong for doing that, and he was charged for misdeamenor assault. According to Profitt he was just trying to keep Valle down and used his foot because he can’t bend over due to a bad Back. He also said he feared for candidate Paul’s safety.
That said, I don’t condone stomping on the idiot’s head, but she wasn’t the innocent victim that she has been depicted as in your preferred media. She was restrained by Paul supporters after accosting the candidate twice! Twice!!!! But you exemplify your typical take on things by saying “the wing-nut stomped on a Liberal’s head”. Simply put, you can discuss politics rationally with a Democrat,however, not extreme left wing, there is a difference. Similiar to trying to talk to the extreme right wing. Have argued both and they both have the very extreme agendas no matter what facts you state. Look at Oslo for a classic example of the very extreme right just like the extreme left. There as cases that are similiar on the left as well. That is my point. It will never change.

My nephew lives in Oslo a block away from the explosion on Friday. Thank God he was in South Africa on assignment. He dodged a bullet. Life is good for him today! Always say a prayer before you go to bed. Damn, he’s lucky and by the way, he is a member of the labor party. He and I have excellent discourse on Global warming!
