This is just a way for people like Al Gore to take advantage of others. He made over $100 million on global warming last year, so yeah he believes in it. The earth is in fact cooling and they have the nerve to say that global warming is making it colder! Get a grip. The liberals have invented a crisis, then used the crisis to fleece America and other countries. As Mr. Emanuel says, “Don’t let a good crisis go to waste.”

With all respect due, using the government to determine who gets to do what, under specific conditions and restrictions, won’t solve a darn thing. As history proves, giving the government the reigns makes the poor poorer and the rich richer. It’s confines competition and innovation to the whim of those making the rules.

I want a car that only costs $1.25 to fill up and has a 400 mile range. I want a house that stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and is not connected to a power grid. If you think the government is better at providing such an outcome, you’re wrong. Allow the markets to do their magic and we will get there in due time. Otherwise, all your effort is in vain.

The global warming context is the greatest fraud in modern human history.

For sure but following on from John’s point, we are going to run out of carbon based fuel in the not too distant future. Surely better to start incentives to turn to renewable and alternative energy forms now?

Warmer climates have historically been periods when human civilization thrived and progressed. What’s more worrisome is a cooling climate. Should we prepare for this eventuallity? Maybe, but it’s certainly not by curbing CO2 emissions with carbon taxes and swapping lightbulbs!

another issue, the economy is not ‘real’, oil, coal and other resources are, and they will soon run out. What you going to do then? It makes allot more sense IMO to work on renewable energy, which won’t run out, that way everyone wins, both in terms of climate and the economy (which is somthing I don’t think will exist. In the same way soon anyway, but that’s a whole other topic lol)

I’m amazed you still refer to the global warming context as a “scientific” pursuit. Its origins may be in science, but its contemporary reason has much more to do with manipulation of the masses, one of the oldest tricks in the book: Create the perception of a crisis so that those in power can maintain control and convince their subjects to get in line for a fleecing. Sadly, it appears a lot of folks still haven’t evolved. The global warming context is a $6 trillion shell game whereby the establishment will maintain its power as energy paradigms shift and new wealth is created. All at the expense of consumers and the poor.

The contemporary global warming context dwarfs Madoff’s $50 billion scam; it is the greatest fraud in modern human history.

Of course the climate changes! That’s what it’s always done. To just notice that phenomonon in the last couple decades and think that: 1. It’s unusual; 2. It’s a problem; 3. We can do something about it, is to ignore millions of years of geologic history of the planet that we were all taught in grade school. It’s beyond my comprehension how people get sucked into panic and are willing to accept radical economic, behavioral, political and lifestyle changes because of the weather.

Although my greatest fear from this kind of (scientific? Not sure if it qualifies as that, is it a compilation of 650 opinions, or have they done some thourgh research?) report, is that it hides the real problem.

I would love for the evidence to be wrong, either way we look at it, we can at least agree that our climate is changing, can we? But, it seems only the people who believe it’s our fault are trying to do something about it…pherhaps it would be more prouctive to deal with the situation, rather than sitting around laughing and pointing at one another?

Exactly. I knew it all along. We should be talking about Global Cooling. They showed a chunk of ice breaking off this summer on July 30th, 2008 up in northern Canada. Well, anybody with a brain would know that the month of July is the hottest month of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. If they had shown that picture on January 30th then we would have something to worry about. What a scam!
