Flooding, erosion, rock and mud slides have never happened on planet Earth before the industrial revolution, of course.

Above are all very good quotes, and I agree with them. These could all be used to support my own arguments. Sinclair's quote is especially pertinent.

“Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power." (Benito Mussolini, Encyclopedia Italiana, who in turn was quoting directly from the leading Italian philosopher of fascism, the neo-Hegelian Giovanni Gentile)

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” -Upton Sinclair

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." – Voltaire

OTTAWA - A major national park in Canada's Arctic has been largely closed after record high temperatures caused flooding that washed away hiking trails and forced the evacuation of tourists, an official said on Friday.

The combination of floods, melting permafrost and erosion means that the southern part of the park will remain shut until geologists can examine the damage, said Pauline Scott, a spokeswoman for Parks Canada.

Climate change? Nah!

Thank you for your excellent analysis of the committee's actions. It was very apparent that the purpose of the hearing was to try to discredit the administration. Climate change is an important issue as it affects energy policy and our economy. Wasting time on petty politics rather than discussing substantive issues has been the norm the past 2 years and illustrates why Congress has such a low approval rating. I was pleased that Dr. Spencer was there to give an alternative scientific position even though he was treated unprofessionally by some members of the committee and by the man from the NCR and ignored by Sen Boxer.
